Although many people would like to believe that Poured-In-Place and
Bonded Rubber playground safety surfacings are no maintenance
products, that is not the case. The simple fact is that the more you invest in
maintaining and cleaning your surfacing, the longer it will last.

At a minimum, you should follow the Maintenance and Cleaning
Instructions that came with the product. In addition, you should seriously
consider having a roll coat professionally applied to the surfacing every few
years.

What is a roll coat? A roll coat is a specially formulated binder that is rolled
on to the top of the surfacing to replace the original binder that has
degraded from exposure to the elements and from abrasion. A roll coat
goes on clear and coats and penetrates the top layer of the surfacing. It
reinforces the bonds between the rubber, increases UV protection, and
leaves the surfacing looking rejuvenated.

At the same time the roll coat is applied, the surfacing can also be inspected
for any sign of cracking, granulating or flaking and easily repaired before a
minor problem grows into a major problem.

Global Surfacing believes so firmly in the value of a roll coat, that we will
extend the warranty of a surfacing originally installed by us when we apply
a roll coat (some restrictions apply).
